Fix type-casting issue on Windows 64-bit systems. We must use "long long" if we mean "double word". Polish: Now there is an API call (isLong64s:) to determine if something is double words, use it. There is no need to use stackObjectValue: if its result is tested via isBytes:, isWords: et al. These methods check for immediates, so the check in stackObjectValue: is redundant and expensive (it must set the failed flag which should be tested later). Don't bother assigning the result of firstIndexableField: to an intermediate variable; its return type is void *, so it's perfect as an argument to memcpy: et al. Amalgamate tests using and: to have as few ^interpreterProxy primitiveFailFor: PrimErrBadArgument clauses as possible (greater instruction cache density). Use methodReturnReceiver (ditto)

RISC-V 64 Port Help

Greetings, I have a Fedora Linux RISCV developer's image running on QEMU and started a port using that image (riscv dev on riscv, NOT cross-compiled). Early days, so don't anyone get excited. I just added an update to "include_ucontext.h" and am playing with a customized mvm, but the compiler flags are not being passed through properly, so as usual I am moby confused. If I add the -D compiler flags "by hand" on the command line, the file compiles fine. Attached are notes with specifics. I would very much appreciate it if some kind soul out there could clue me in on setting up the build specifics. Thanks much! -KenD PS: Current update of opensmalltalk-vm cog builds and executes fine on Aarch64 linux. FYI

The 2022 edition of the ECOOP conference (https://2022.ecoop.org/), taking place from June 6th till June 10th 2022 in Berlin, intends to host a diverse offering of workshops bringing together academics, industrial researchers, and practitioners to exchange new ideas, problems, and experiences. Its workshop chairs are reviewing submitted workshop proposals on a rolling basis until **January 15th**. Submission link: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSeGRJS-BbHaRmJK6i8iphFhNJteCx4V7AD… We hope that ECOOP and its co-located workshops will form the ideal occasion to meet each other in person again. Topics for workshops may include, but are not limited to, the theory, design, implementation, optimization, testing, and analysis of programs and programming languages. In particular, while the OO in ECOOP has traditionally stood for “object-oriented”, these days the scope of ECOOP is much broader and encompasses the Programming Languages field as a whole. To submit a proposal for an ECOOP workshop, please complete the online application form linked to below. After submitting, you will receive an automated email confirmation of your submission and, within four weeks, a formal response notifying you if the workshop has been accepted for ECOOP. So, the key here is a compiled method (no longer installed), whose #scaledIdentityHash cannot be used to compute the index in the WeakIdentityKeyDictionary anymore. The method's hash is 743354880. The dictionary's internal array's size is 31. The association of interest is at index 7. However 743354880 \\ 31 + 1 is not 7 but 22. There is nothing (i.e. "nil") at index 22. DebuggerMethodMap class >> #cacheDebugMap:forMethod: cannot work correctly anymore because #keys and #at: are out of sync. :-( This is scary. Did the object's hash changed without notice? Does it have to do with method compilation and installation?
