Why even more complicating that already messed API is beyond me. Not promising ABI stability is well known for OpenSSL but, why the HECK not simply providing an Alias Symbol instead of UNNECESSARILY ripping the symbol out of that innocent object file? Also, we now need a load-time disambiguation of which symbol to use. (if you find a rant in this message, you can keep it)

startpc (method) of full block closures

Hi, I have found an issue (that I don't think it has been discussed here before), and I wanted to ask for advice on how to handle it: The startpc method overridden in FullBlockClosure does not have the same semantics as the method it overrides (from BlockClosure). In BlockClosure, startpc points to where the block starts within its parent's bytecodes, whereas in FullBlockClosure the startpc method returns the initialPC of the closure within its own method, so it points to where the block starts within its own bytecodes. This is not just a change in semantics, but it is also a disconnect from what a decompiled block node's pc is showing. The decompiled node's pc still has the old semantics, even though the block node is now translated to a full block closure. This old semantics (of an address within the parent) was a quite useful feature, since it allowed one to match a closure to its corresponding block node in the AST (even though the pc was only set correctly by the decompiler and not by the compiler), but this now seems impossible. Or maybe I just don't see it. Any idea on how to solve this ? Thank you, Florin

Well, the calls `convertRectToBacking:` and `convertRectFromBacking:` are required to make `primitiveHostWindowSizeSet` work in the HostWindowPlugin. Without them, a request like `DisplayScreen setNewScreenSize: 1024@768` from the image will end up as a window double the size on a typical 2.0 retina display. Which is wrong. I am not familar with the window-sharing/grabbing mechanism in Virtend. Yet, that would be the place to look to figure out how to correctly access windows that are or aren't scaled on macOS. If your Virtend window is too small, just make it bigger. It's nothing that macOS should do. Your Virtend client has to do it. We provide that primitive `#primitiveScreenScaleFactor` for exactly that reason. If you platform reports 2.0, then just make the Virtend window bigger my that factor. The goal here is to work with native pixels from within the image. That is, the image can react to changes in the platform scale factor and, for example, resize its window if the platform did not already do this, which can already be checked. Note that Squeak 5.3 does not do that. Maybe that is the problem. Only 6.0alpha has the image-side code at the moment. macOS used to have an app property to run the app in "Low Resolution Mode". Maybe you need to activate that for Virtend. But I think it's gone in macOS 12. The best strategy would be to schedule a meeting so that we can explain what we learned about that High-DPI stuff on macOS. My best guess would be that window sharing in Virtend needs a small adjustment because it fails to recognize that "backing scale factor" stuff Apple introduced. This attempt here looks like you are trying to fix the wrong end of the problem.
