Better names for tests

Hi all, for the purpose of an exercise for my students, i rewrite part of the RectangleTest methods in a more XP (eXtreme Programming) fashion in order to have tests that give intentions to reader. The previous name of methods were : testAreasOutside1 testAreasOutisde2 testCorner1 testIntersection1 testIntersection2 testMergingDisjointRects testMergingNestedRects testMergingOverlappingRects testMergingTrivial testMergingTwoRects They are now : testARectangleContainsHisOrigin testARectangleDoesNotContainHisCorner testARectangleIntersectsWithHimself testAnEmptyRectangleHasNoArea testMergingNestedRectangleReturnTheContainer testMergingOneRectangleReturnsThisRectangle testRectangleWithSameOriginIntersects testTwoRectangleWithAnAdjascentBorderDoesNotIntersects testTwoRectangleWithAnAdjascentCornerDoesNotIntersects What do you think about the idea ? Universe (devlopment) upload problem

I'm having trouble updating the UI Enhancements on the development univers. ConnectionTimedOut: Cannot connect to 69.93.127.48:3702 if that's any help. Lex?

error then exit image

I have been modifying the Compiler and the VM. When I recompile a method with the new Compiler code turned on, it succeeds. When I do it the second time it fails dramatically. A portion, about 3 inches, of the bottom of the squeak window turns white and what looks like a stack dump rapidly prints across this part of the screen. At the end of this the image exits. Is there anyway to capture the stack dump? Are there any other debugging techniques I could use? thanks, Rob

Problem deleting methods

I tried to delete a method in the OmniBrowser and got a walkback: UndefinedObject>>doesNotUnderstand: #pragmas CompiledMethod>>pragmas CompiledMethod>>hasLiteralThorough: The problem is that CompiledMethod>>properties (called in >>pragmas) is returning nil. Now I can't delete ANY method. This happened sometime after I tried to push down a method to a subclass and I got a complaint about the class not being an abstract class. I don't know if this is related. I didn't know how to solve this problem, so I went back to an earlier image; but this has happened to me once before and I'd like it not to happen again! Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks in advance, Mike

Squeak people is inaccessable.

Squeak people is inaccessable. Any attempt to access squeak people gets me a proxy error. I can access the xxx.squeak.org stuff fine including mantis. the swiki and the mailling list archives. Afaik I am not using anything unusual as a proxy server. Squeak people gives the error below. This has been true for sometime so I am puzzled no one else has mentioned it. What might be the problem? I've finished a rough first version of SSH in squeak. There are many holes, but it will connect to a remote server, login and run a pty with a shell. As a SSHD server, there is no users to login with and there is no terminal server or shell command - see code in PS to run. There are issues with TeletypeWindow refreshing when data arrives, which I don't know how to solve. I click on the window to refresh it. Perhaps someone else could figure this out. Once you have loaded the packages specified below, you can run the following command to connect a pty to a remote machine: SSH runBy: username to: host port: 22. specifying the appropriate username and host. This will open a TeletypeWindow and start connection to the server. To get this software, load the following packages, in order: From SqueakMap: Telnet Cryptography Team Package NOTE: Telnet doesn't load from SqueakMap, so you will need to download it and file it in from he FileList. Then from the Monticello repository at: http://squeaksource.com/ Cryptography SSL SSH Here are some of the shortcomings: At the transport layer: Only supports 3des-cbc and diffieHellman group 1 At the UserAuth layer: Only supports keyboard-interactive type of login. Does not support publickey login. At the Connection layer: Many messages not supported. Only pty and shell commands issued. Data window sizing not used or supported. X11 forwarding not supported. There is work to be done here: SSHServer new loadDSACertificateFile: 'certificates/dsa.cert' privateKeyFile: 'certificates/dsa.key'; startAtPort: 5222.

Refactoring browser
