Hi all --
For GLIBC < 2.29, we have currently no simple means to provide pre-built binaries for OSVM via GitHub Actions since the oldest possible runner runs with Ubuntu 20.04.
My feeling is that those of you who still work with older systems are also able to build OSVM on their own machine? Am I correct?

FWIW that is correct in my case. But I don't know what a "typical user" would expect (is there any such thing in Squeak?!?).

I technically know how to build the VM myself but this is still a very significant hurdle. Is Ubuntu 18.04 really that rare today? My system is only 5 years old ...
For comparison, Google Chrome and Libre Office still run on Ubuntu 18.04. If they can't do that, shouldn't we be able to offer that as well? My worry is that we loose some people who want to try out Squeak and fail because we offer no supported VM binary.

I don't get this argument. Am I a freaky nerd for not updating my systems in time? :-)
