Error in ImageSegment primitive?

I was under the impression, however, that producing new segments should be possible. The primitive does work with simple objects at least (I've tested it with a 10 MB array). > Wrong list btw. Windows Subsystem For Linux

I expect a native LLP64 Windows port is preferable, but I'm following WSL developments because there's an outside chance it could offer an interim 64-bit Windows VM. The idea is to split the VM execution into two parts - a KVM part on the Windows side that grabs some framebuffer resource and mouse/keyboard events and forwards them via LxBus to the Linux side where we already have a working JIT. IIRC Spur VMs do not support image segments. There should be code written in Smalltalk to do what the V3 VMs used to do (loading and saving). Wrong list btw. CC'd vm-dev. ImageFormat updates

Hi, Is there an Inbox to upload patches to VMMaker for review? I generated a small fix to ImageFormat to generate magic pattern checks at offset 512 also. I think some old Etoys images use this offset with a launch script stuffed in the first 512 bytes. Is this deprecated now? I also feel 'unix' should be dropped from the method's name. file(1) utility originated in Unix but is related to file contents and not to kernel. It should be available for Mac/Win too. I have also attached the resulting magic file and a workspace script to generate a bunch of test header files to test the magic file. e.g. $ file -m magic *.image Regards .. Subbu
