Hi vm guys, I would like to know the process to report problems, issues, enh to the vm because people asked me and I have no idea how this is done. I read the web site but I could not find a bugtracker. Several questions: - How do people report problems? Just sending an email in the mailing-list is enough? - How a fix in one OS is propagated to the others? - How the user can know that? I read that on http://www.squeakvm.org/unix/download.html If you're having problems... • If it's a general problem of installation or bizarre behaviour, ask for help on the Squeak VM mailing list. If you are not already subscribed, you can browse the list archives and/or subscribe online. It is a bad idea to send VM problem reports to the general-purpose 'squeak-dev' mailing list. There is no guarantee that anyone involved with VM development and maintenance will ever read your message. • If it's a Unix-specific problem that you think might be a bug, please report it to the above mailing list and send me email. (The former ensures others know of your problem, and the latter ensures I will address your problem promptly.) If you have a fix to submit, please send me complete modified files (not 'diffs'). • Suggestions for improvements to this page or to the way Unix Squeak is distributed are also welcome. New Windows VM: 4.0.1

Folks - I've built a new Windows VM for the upcoming release (mostly to fix the SqueakMap problem). Good thing I tried it first - it turns out that my earlier fix for SqueakMap had fixed one particular version of the problem, but there was another variant that it hadn't addressed (now it does). With this VM I can use SqueakMap successfully. However, since this was a major version switch I've also changed two more issues that came up in the past: 1) The VM will now default to pass the window close event to the image instead of handling it directly. You can see that in a current trunk image by clicking on the close button (you'll now get a Squeak notifier instead of the previous VM notifier). The old behavior is still available if you SHIFT-Click on the close button. This is very useful if your image hangs. 2) The VM name now reflects the version. In other words, this VM is called Squeak4.0.1.exe to make it easier to distinguish between versions. Unfortunately this also means you'll heave to create a new association if you want to use this VM (hopefully, the installer will take care of that later). Hi, had problems compiling with the r3 but did no further investigation. Now i noticed that the r1 isn't available for download anymore, so the "compiling with r3" becomes a high priority task - i'll start working on it asap. Until the problem is solved, i could offer to upload the r1 and make it ailable for downloading (if the license allows that). Unfortunatly i only have the Windows-Version of the NDK. As you see I'm using NDK r3. But as stefan krecher wrote in the wiki, squeak will not work correctly with the NDK r3, but it should compile!? So does someone know what could be the problem?
