trouble with FFI primitives

Hi, we're experiencing something strange with Squeak and FFI on Linux. Could someone please give us some insight on the problem at hand, and how to solve it? /usr/lib/squeak/3.11.3-2135/so.SqueakFFIPrims: cannot enable executable stack as shared object requires: Permission denied We have code compiled with gcc 4.4.2. We expose one method that works perfectly well when called from C - but we need to call it from Squeak. The code is pasted below. Win32 VM Service facility broken?

Hi Andreas, looks like the NTService facility of the Win32 SqueakVM is broken. I start squeak.exe -service "MyService" in a directory with the image. The Squeak.ini includes the line ImageFile=mytest.image. When I use old 3.6 VM the VM asks the correct questions (if I want to run the service at startup etc) and runs the service. With newest VM's 3.11.4 nothing happens and no service is setup. Tested on two different machines (XP). CurlPlugin-23 under Linux

I have integrated CurlPlugin-dao.23.mcz into my "platforms/unix/plugins"-tree. It builds and runs with the cmake-build on my Ubuntu-x64. 14/14 CurlTests are green (but no CurlFtpTests). It would be nice to review and integrate the generated plugin into the trunk. The Mac CurlPlugin in mac vm is generated at the moment from an older version. It is missing functions to add http headers (e.g. to authenticate against GData ClientLogin) . Thanks Marco Schmidt

Trying to Simulating the Interpreter

hi all, im trying to run the InterpreterSimulator and im using Operating System: WindowsXP Professional SmalltalkImage current vmVersion. >>'Squeak3.10.2 of ''5 June 2008'' [latest update: #7179]' SmalltalkImage current imageName. >>'D:\BC\Squeak\VMM\unix-3.11.3.image' (i downloaded it from the unix site, because it has VMMaker installed) this image is saved as 'source.image' i open unix-3.11.3.image and do (InterpreterSimulator new openOn:'source.image') test. >> self error: 'incomaptible image format' ^^ there's a mistake in message source image version is 6502 but the InterpreterSimulator expects an image version = 6504 ( self imageFormatForwardCompatibilityVersion is 6504 ) so where i could find a image version = 6504? i tried with several images and im getting the same results. maybe im doing something wrong. thanks in advance.

Can't compile squeak under 64bit linux

Hi everybody!, I'm trying to compile squeak under 64bit linux (archlinux) and get some errors. Can anybody help me please? VisualWorks throws an exception "Size exceeds implementation limit of 2^28 elements". Pharo and Squeak also crash the VM when you evaluate: (Array new: SmallInteger maxVal) last What is interesting is that when you doIt in Squeak trunk: (Array new: SmallInteger maxVal) last nothing happens, but VM crashes when you printIt In Pharo VM already crashes when you just doIt.
