Problems regarding to SUnit and debug in Linux 3.10-1

Hello, Last week I upgraded from 3.9 to 3.10-1 with basic image 3.10-2 (Linux). Since then I've had the following problems: SUnit won't upgrade (keeps frozen at: Snapshotting Methods). Debug freezes. TestRunner freezes whenever I try to debug an error (a problem with debug???) Have someone addressed these problems? If so where fixes can be found? Stream asymmetry?

Hello, I'm just investigating the 'issue'. I am running some tests on some neglected code. I basically includes saving some strings in a file with "stream string: aString" and reading it back with "nextToken := stream string". I haven't yet fully examined the problem, but it looks like that characters are written with a ByteStream and tried to be read back with a MultiByteStream. Is this correct? Regards, Markus

pretty print customization

Continued... problems regarding to SUnit & Debug

Well, in fact I've found several other really annoying problems: 1. Debug freezes when you click at any entry. 2. TestRunner freezes when you click at any error entry. 3. Unable to update SUnit (freezes at Snapshotting Methods). 4. Unable to install MSE (tries to read past end of file and complains about UTF-8 characters). 5. If I install MySQL drivers and save image squeak gets frozen. The same with other packages. I use the UniverseBrowser basic/enhanced to update/upgrade the system. I use the basic image and the sq3...dev...net image squeak command line is: $ squeak --encoding UTF-8 --textenc UTF-8 squeak.image > /dev/null 2> /dev/null & I installed the spanish.cs (otherwise things get pretty messed with keyboard inputs). As I am unable to use the debugging capabilities, I just cannot figure out what's going on. Should I revert to Squeak3.9 ???

hosed image

I'm fairly new to Squeak ... about two weeks. I've been working with a Squeak-Dev image ... sq3.10.2-7179dev08.09.2. Something happened this morning and now the UI is unresponsive. I see all my changes in the .changes file. If I could just get to the point that I could do a fileout, I could resume work with a new image. Otherwise I'm going to lose about 10 hours of good work. I'm wondering if someone more familiar with Squeak would be kind enough to take a look at my situation. I could send you my .image and .changes files (and whatever else is needed) and you could see if you can get to the point that you can do a fileout of three class categories for me. I'd be eternally grateful! Let me know if you're willing to try this for me. --- Mark Volkmann

Parsing index.html directory listing

Hi all, simple question, know it has been done before but can't find the code to parse a standard index.html directory listing? Or is everybody simply re-implementing because it isn't that hard? ;-) HTTPServerDirectory expects an ftp style string listing, so it can be used on web listings. Thanks Michael

SVI and Vim

I'd really like to be able to use vi keystrokes when editing code in Squeak. Does anyone know if SVI (which is supposed to provide that capability) is compatible with Squeak 3.10? I can't get it to work. I just yellow-clicked the latest version of SVI in a SqueakMap Package Loader and selected install. I don't think the install worked though because it isn't yet marked as being compatible with Squeak 3.10. --- Mark Volkmann
