[ANN] Etoys on OLPC mailing list

Hi all, we created a mailing list specifically for discussing Etoys in the one-laptop-per-child (OLPC) software distribution (a.k.a. "$100- laptop"). Stateful traits

Hi Stephane! The presentation has a slide titled Traits limits: 1) Trait users should define missing traits state 2) Important required methods and required state are mixed 3) Boilerplate glue code 4) Propagation of required accessors With stateful traits instead of 1) and 3) now they have to call the proper initialization methods, or setters of the traits. Is this any better? 2) is bad. Maybe categorisation of methods can help? 1) and 3) maybe also can be solved by tools, generating the proper inst vars, and accessors. What do you think? Another question: Can Traits define class side behaviour? thanks, balázs

[Q] Again with FontSet problem

Thanks in advance. My original question was: Hi, I've installed version 4 of AccuFont package and changed default font as accujen. The problem is that if I replace the StrikeFont with StrikeFontSet made with original font like this: accujenArray _ (TextConstants at: #Accujen) fontArray. a12 _ accujenArray at: 3. af12 _ StrikeFontSet newFontArray: {a12}. accujenArray at: 3 put: af12. then, the separator characters like tab, cr and others displayed as something like '?' glyph. If I revert it as StrikeFont then, it just displayed as normal invisible glyph. Can anyone know this problem? Can anyone help me? Where in the academic world is Squeak?

Hi everyone, I'm about a year away from finishing my BAs in Math/CS, and am looking for a nice place to do exciting and interesting stuff for a PhD. Of course if I can do it in Squeak and with Squeakers, that's a definite advantage! BTW, my current definition of interesting stuff tends towards math and geometry - for example I'm currently working on face recognition algorithms based on embedding surfaces while preserving geodetic distances (GMDS). But I'm curious about the general situation. So I know about SE people in the SCG group in Berne, and about Andrew Black+ in PSU, Portland, and Croquet seems to be getting some universities involved (Minnesota, Wisconsin... more?), though I don't know exactly in what form. Who else is out there? I think this is probably of general interest... Daniel

I found ActiveEvent as undeclared For force the system to declare I do : ActiveEvent inspect And select global. Exists a code form to do this ?
