Hi ;)
It is Friday and I'd like to do a small joke.
Do you like scripting in smalltalk right?
But the "Revenge of the Bash" has came finally!
BashTalk is a Self-like-prototyping system written in... bourne again shell.
So the scripting shells are trying to obscure Smalltalk!
It is so small I have attached to this mail...
May the Script be with you.
Your dear Scripting Sith :-)

Hi!
Just posted this ENH on Mantis making "DateAndTime now" 6 times faster
(and lots, lots more):

...enjoy. And please review.

Here's an attempt at addressing it:
***********************************
Tests, literate programming, other documentation,... have been suggested.
I have realized that my own coding style doesn't scale to substantial
programs. I use extreme distribution; object structure and object
interaction are implicit in the classes. I have (almost) never been able
to keep code and documentation in sync.
Adele Goldberg once said: "everything happens somewhere else". Which means
that it may be hard to find what I look for in my code. I am now searching
for a high level coding discipline where important, high-level stuff is
explicit, visible and readable rather than hidden in the details.
In short: A new programming language/discipline/... where readability comes
first, reuse second, efficiency last (for 95% of the program). And less
code doing more.
I believe Smalltalk and Squeak are the way to the future. But we still have
a long way to go.
Cheers

Here you have MorpicWrappers working in Squeak3.9g-7054.image, and also
Funcions and Plotters
http://minnow.cc.gatech.edu/squeak/5855
You should load first
MorphicWrappers.4.cs.gz
And then
FunctionsAndPlotters3.9Ready.1.cs
In a World , you press TAB key for entering "aerial typing" and then type
XYPLotter example1.
Check the other examples
When I have time put more converted MathMorphs in that page.
As was some Indiana Jones quest of mixing things from several sources from
Squeak 2.1, 2.3, 2.7, 3.6 , sure is still buggy.
But loads, works, plot.
Enjoy, Rich

up when Reported by me is pressed.)
Pressing any of the fields will allow me to edit all
fields and pressing a button (Use Filter) on the
following line will regenerate the view with the
filters applied.
The following line has
[-] -- a hyperlink to the view all bugs page
Search: -- this is just a text discription.
input box -- allows a search target string to be
input.
Apply Filter -- this is a confusingly named button
that does the search and returns only the list of bugs
that have the target
[ Advanced Filters ] -- hyperlink or button that
brings up the same page except this hyperlink will now
read [ simple Filters ]
[Reset Filters] -- a pop up menu that gives me choices
between
reset filters,
a blank line,
nofiltering, and
fixes.
Use Filter -- button that applies the filters above
this line.
Manage Filters -- button that brings up a page that
give me the option of selecting between the options
that appeared in [Reset Filters] i.e.
nofiltering and
fixes
both of which bring up the all bugs page with a
different set of filters set.
nofiltering gives me a list of all bugs
fixes give me an empty set of bugs ( status is set to
resolved and hide status is set to (Resolved and
above)
so I assume this is attached to the resolved view.)
==============
So Help.
How do I control what is set for the filters in the
five views available to me.
When I do set filter setting what are they attached
to?
And where are they stored ( on impara or in the
cookies on my machine or ...)
I've got more questions but I don't want to unfocus
this post any further than I already have.
Yours in service, -- Jerome Peace
