Yes, there's a bug when converting Floats to Scaled Decimals. It's not precise. This works: a := ScaledDecimal newFromNumber: 618/100 scale: 4. b := ScaledDecimal newFromNumber: 5 scale: 4. a / b "1.2360s4" This is the problem: 6.18 asFraction (869757678035927/140737488355328) instead of (6.18 * 10e4) rounded / 10e4 (309/50) So when converting from a Float it should be rounded to scale, IMHO. You should report this (best along with the fix) on the squeak bug tracker. Hallo Trygve! Start the squeak.exe with tweak-image and push the button "Tweak Project Window". Goto the "?" and push the click the item "Load updates". A further hack to corner grips in 3.9alpha. [tested in 6716 and 6718]

It adds corner grips to all 4 corners. It exhibits the same behaviour as the original corner gripper in that if you scale a browser small enough internal interface elements protrude outside of the bounding box of the window. I apologize for the class structure of CornerGripMorph with subclasses of CornerGripMorphBottomLeft, CornerGripMorphTopLeft and CornerGripMorphTopRight. Its a bit ugly but I couldnt see a lot of advantage in making a proper superand 4 subclassess. [and i am quite lazy if i can be.] I have not tried to refactor any of the drawing code as I was more concerned at trying to get rid of as many of magic numbers in the original drawing code first. I also think the current design of having the corner group a square morph which may overlap with internal window element morphs is not a good design. It appears to me that in a Workspace window that typing in the workspace causes the corner groups to redraw for every single character that renders typed. Which I think might be to do with the overlap of display areas. I am still pretty new at squeak and smalltalk so am happy to hear any constructive feedback. It seems to me that to make this sort of extension cleaner would require more structure in the SystemWindow morph structure. Robin. nil in SuspendedDelays???

Below a stack trace we've been seeing a couple of times lately in our wxSqueak project (which is mostly 3.8). It seems that SuspendedDelays has a nil element somewhere. However, the code in Delay seems to be safe against that and I can't see any code elsewhere in the image that messes around with delays... Has anyone ever seen this? [Q] Stable Image of MVC?

Hi, I've managed to create 3.8 version of MVC only image (with Shout + Network-Kernel + Some Unicode Korean font). But found that when my network server code goes wrong, the whole GUI system seems to be wrong. For example, during this state, if I left click to display menu, two menus are displayed with cascaded style(wrong!) and I cannot select any of its item and windows. Now, I want to know what version of squeak (MVC) is stable to be used for development/debugging and etc? Thanks in advance.

David I tried a few more things and it's clear I have a problem somewhere. Hmm, the plugin is not working then. I'm away from my Squeak computer so I can't help much at the moment, but the two things I would check are: 1) Plugin paths can be confusing. If you have an older copy of the OSPP plugin (as would have gotten whenever you installed OSProcess from SqueakMap), make sure you are not running that one instead of the more recent OSPP 4.0 that I sent to you. There is a #primitiveVersionString primitive in OSPP identifies the actual version of the plugin that you are running. I don't remember for sure, but I think I put a method in the OSPP source (download from SqueakMap) that calls the primitive, probably it's "OSProcessPlugin primVersionString" or something like that. 2) Are you building a VM from the latest SVN sources by any chance? If so, the #stdOut method won't work due to some recent security changes to the Windows FilePlugin. If that's the problem, you can probably just comment out the security checks in the Windows FilePlugin support code as a workaround (I don't have any better solution at the moment). [ANN] PostgresV2 (a.k.a. PostgreSQL Client for Squeak) 1.0 released on SqueakMap and SqueakSource

In the tradition of "let's call something a final release", there's now a 1.0 release of the PostgreSQL Client for Squeak. The release supports MD5 authentication (contributed Lois Lherbier). It should load into a Squeak 3.8 image. The Cryptography package is needed for MD5 authentication to work; otherwise you can configure the database for cleartext authentication and skip the Cryptography package. You will need to set the default connection arguments in PGConnection to run the SUnit tests, which should all pass. For users of older versions, beware that #buildDefaultFieldConverters has changed. The license is now Squeak/MIT instead of Squeak-only. Some notes. - It's called PostgresV2 on SqueakSource to have a short conformant name. The V2 is there because it implements version 2 of the frontend/backend protocol. From Postgres version 7.4 onwards, a version 3 of this protocol is used, but the older version is still supported, for now. - Instead of a changeset (.cs), it's a Monticello package (.mcz) - PostgresV2-yj.1.mcz corresponds to the 0.9.2 changeset - PostgresV2-yj.5.mcz is release 1.0 - release 0.7.0 was made in 2001 when there was no MC or SqueakSource, and licensing issues were even cloudier than now. We've come a long way.
