Smalltalk code generation

Hello, I need to do some Smalltalk code generation from Smalltalk. So I have implemented a library (although it may be seen as an embedded language). One important thing is that I need to compose generated code from other generated code. A usage example: cb := self commandBuilder m := cb methodNamed: #conditionMethod withFormalArgs: #() comment: 'Condition method'. m send: #ifTrue:ifFalse: to: (cb send: #isNil to: cb nil) with: (cb block: [:blk | blk return: (cb literal:'true')]) with: (cb block: [:blk | blk return: (cb literal: 'false')]). The "pretty" printing of the generated method m would be: conditionMethod "Condition method" nil isNil ifTrue:[^true] ifFalse:[^false] I want to do something like this, so I cant work on plain strings or do some preprocessing: ASTVisitor>>visitAnd: node ^cb send: #and: to: (node exp1 accept: self) with: (cb block:[:blk | node exp2 accept: self]) And the question is: Is there a better/easier/trivial/standard way of doing this that I am missing? Please don't doubt to criticize it, I want to learn :-) . Hi all Romain gave me a presentation of his enhancements and they are REALLLLLLLLY cool. For example we can start to code a method in the middle of doing it doubleclick on a word in the text and jump in the implementors then go back (without having lost the code we were typing). by simply double clicking on a symbol in a method text we can jump into the senders, implementers... I asked romain to do a video. I really think that what he is doing is important for the improvement of the usability of the environment. So try and give feedback to romain. We could get a really cool environment with his extensions, shout, eCompletion, RoelTyper. Hi Emilio, I don't quite understand what you mean ... the behavior I have for now is to both select the word and attempt to navigate, which deselects the word sometimes. Just by reading your mail, I was thinking of doing navigation by triple-clicking (was that what you meant btw?), which could maybe be doable. Would everyone (Tim?) find that ok. I don't think Squeak can do triple- click to select a line or paragraph (and can't check because my double-click is modified ;-) ). Squeak 3.8 with big fonts is terribly slow

Hi, For my lectures, I changed all fonts (lists, menus, code, ...) to ComicSansMS-17 Point-Bold. But, it leads to a slow-down of reactivity. I have to wait (about 2 seconds) when selecting/resizeing/moving windows or openning menus/windows (up to 10-12 seconds when openning a filelist!). BTW, I'm using mac carbon VM 3.8.9b1 on a G4 1.33Mz powerbook 12" with 512M of RAM. I made the test with a full 3.8-6665 image and a basic one also. Draft of missing functions in Complex

The documentation for Kernel-Numbers/Complex says that arcSin, arcCos and arcTan are missing. "sqrt" is also handy for implementing some of these. Following are versions of these functions, plus a cut-and-paste set of manual tests from a Workspace. I'm new to Smalltalk, so there are certainly lots more parentheses than necessary, plus I'm sure lots of other style failures. There will also be lots of numerical and efficiency improvements possible. The Weekly Squeak #5 will be late
