Alright John, I suppose I'd better give a kind of explanation. Let's just put it down to programmer typos. subclass TextMorph - MyTextMorph override mousedown: mwthod and code the method to go to the page in the book already in the domain model. The text is alreadyin the domain in collections. In this case. The TextMorph knows the book pages. I'm not sure what you mean there. To explain a bit better what I need: I don't want to alter or edit the text. When I click on the text I want to go to another page in a bookmorph, or other text in a bookmorph, or open a window or other morph, " rather than the I beam sitting in the textmorph for editing. Web Architectures

Hello, I've been reading about an interesting web architecture for high performance scalable internet services called SEDA. It was designed by Matt Welsh of Running Linux fame. It is written in Java but could possibly be ported. Info is at: http://www.cs.berkeley.edu/~mdw/proj/seda/ He has several PDFs for describing this architecture, hows and whys. Good reading regardless of any decisions to use the architecture directly. With all of this facinating discussion about SqueakDot, Seaside and Squeak ZODB, etc. I thought I would toss this out for comment. Jimmie Houchin

Thanks John, I think I've got everything. Judging from some of the updates I read, I assumed the vm and plug-ins were all part of the updates. I think I've got all the updates but didn't catch what number they went to. The servers are saying there is no more to give me. How do you know what number was last downloaded ? Another question: when updating I was disconnected from the phone line and lost the http connection. This caused Squeak to crash, I couldn't save what I had already downloaded. Do you know a way to halt in the middle of updating to save ? Thanks! New Squeak

Hello, Tonight I just updated Squeak from 3,1 alpha to the latest updates. I've only played around for a few minutes and nearly everything I tried didn't work. MPEGMovieplayerMorph primitive failed. MPEGPlayerMorph primtive failed MPEGDisplayMorph nothing Grab with lasso from screen Message not understood. Grab with rubber band from screen Message not understood Grab flood ares from screen Message not understood. Are these still works in progress or should they be working ? Regards, Gary

The second case is simple and is the same as a tail call in a regular method. Invoking a block that has no explicit returns (^) is equivalent to invoking a method with the last expression returned. But putting an explicit return (^) in a block forces it to capture the home context and will attempt to return to the home context's sender when the return is interpreted. [^self bar] would try to return to the home context's sender (like in the first case above, which is messy to tail call). This error on simply using the "open" button on the MpegMoviePlayer morph (the blue one).
