Oh they will. If you read up on all the incredible hoops they jump through to make this model work on 2+ cores now, it has to be obvious that this can't scale indefinitely.
Intel has a lot of resources, and much invested in this model so they may try to push it further then it should go. But I don't see that having a good end for them.
