A few questions: What is you Squeak display depth? Is your 2.9 image fully updated? Have you changed the color of the browsers in which highlighting looks odd?
My display depth is 8. That is, a printIt on "Display depth" answers 8. My 2.9 image is not fully updated. I was up to 3193. Attempting to update hangs my VM at around 3259, and rather than worry about this, I moved to version 3.0.
I haven't changed the color of the browser. It is the green color that one can pull out of the flap.
