Alien: NotFoundError renamed into LibrarySymbolNotFoundError

The class name "NotFoundError" was too generic in Alien package - so I renamed it into LibrarySymbolNotFoundError. I also added the missing class comment. [Discussion] Creating message sends via anObject >>> #selector ?

Hi, there. One of our students was curious about whether the following expression could be somehow improved: someObjects collect: [:each | self convert: each]. I suppose that the main goal was to remove the brackets. Similar to the existing symbol shortcut: someObjects collect: #message. Looking at all implementors of #value:, #cull: and alike, I suppose that a more convenient creation of a MessageSend could tackle this case directly: someObjects collect: self >>> #convert:. This feels strange. :-) Very strange. But maybe it's just me. I don't see the traditional [:each | ...] version as neither difficult to read nor write. What do you think about adding the #>>> message to MessageSend for more compact instantiation? Do you see other scenarios of interest? Would it be just superfluous? Producing less readable code? Polymorph

Hi all, tl;dr: Is there a modern version of Polymorph for Squeak, or some information on what happened to it? If not, where are people getting their widgets these days? I'm (still) trying to import my very old code into a current Squeak so I can revive it. The UI was based on Polymorph, the latest version of which (outside Pharo) I see here: http://www.squeaksource.com/UIEnhancements.html This version looks extremely incompatible with current Squeak. I stubbed out the missing MultiNewParagraph class, but now I am hitting conflicts in several basic class definitions, e.g. DialogWindow. Unsurprisingly, I am getting an emergency debugger. So far it's nothing I can't debug, but I'd love to hear that someone else has already done so, or that there is a more recent repository for Polymorph, or that it was integrated into the base Squeak a while back & I'd do better trying to remove the dependency from my package, or that these days everyone uses FubarWidgets instead. Does anyone have any advice? I admit I considered switching to Pharo, since nearly all of my dependencies are now part of Pharo's stock image, but it froze twice and crashed once in my first 10 minutes of use (just trying to learn the UI differences, not doing anything I think ought to be weird), so that's out. Is MethodHolder really part of Etoys and not Tools-Base?

Hi, I noticed that MethodHolder is only used by classes in the Etoys-Scripting category (Player and ScriptEditorMorph). On its class side, it only has methods in the *Etoys protocol. So, considering this, might it also belong in Etoys-Scripting rather than in Tools-Base? Thanks, Tim J
