One nice side-effect of the partiality of the integration of rejection is that no-one can possibly have been using it :-) leaving us free to assign sensible semantics to it without fear of backwards-compatibility problems. Event Theatre in Object Catalog sparks DNU in 6.0-trunk

Hi all, I am really enjoying the latest versions of Squeak. In trying out 6.0-alpha with trunk updates, I found a DNU when doing normal Morphic tasks. Sorry if this has already been reported. Should be repeatable: - open fresh image - make flaps appear (open a new Morphic project, or World menu -> flaps -> show shared tabs) - click Widgets - drag out an Object Catalog - click Multimedia Something is going on within the Event Theatre item's initialization. Seems to be that the "tutorial" Event Theatre Worldlet has a worldState instance variable which is nil, but it is being sent #displayWorld:submorphs: by PasteUpMorph>>#displayWorld. Need NEWS volunteer!

Hi All, Some stats for http://news.squeak.org. In 2015 we had 40,000 views. 2016 just 15,000, and in 2017 10,000. This is entirely my fault. Who's is going to read a site with no posts! I could use some help! If you would like to write articles for news.squeak.org or would like to help me by suggesting topics and sending materials. Or if you have ideas on how we can improve the flow of news for squeak please contact me. So what topics do you want to be covered in news.squeak.org? What can we do to improve the site? (someone commented that the font was too small. I just picked a clear font and made it bigger and easier to read). How can we make it more useful? Does anyone want to host a live interview show and post videos! How about Tutorials? Should we post or host meetings there? Thanks for your help and suggestions! All the best, Ron Teitelbaum

WebClient httpGet: 'http://freegeoip.net/json/' works on windows not linux

Hi Everyone, I use the following: Json readFrom: (ReadStream on: (WebClient httpGet: 'http://freegeoip.net/json/', (WebClient httpGet: 'https://api.ipify.org') content) content utf8ToSqueak). to get latitude and longitude from the internet. It works great on windows but not linux (Raspbian). The #primitiveSSLCreate fails. I expect something linux specific like some FFI or something is missing. Anyone have any idea what?
