Escaping from loops in scripts

Hi all, when writing scripts, I often need the ability to interrupt a loop. This is the traditional break instruction of C/Python or more advanced exit of FORTRAN/ADA (we can tell from which nexted loop we exit). I could use exceptions, but then handling exit from nested loops is tricky (see below). One possible way to do it in Smalltalk is to use blocks, and interrupt with non local return. ref http://lists.gnu.org/archive/html/help-smalltalk/2008-06/msg00077.html Object>>escape: aBlock "Give the ability to exit execution of aBlock by returning control to sender. aBlock will take an argument, which is a door for returning control. I don't see such support in trunk image, could we add it? Do you think of a better name? (not setjmp: please) Unless you come with better alternatives... One thing that is questionable is that the receiver of escape: is void (escape: is a utility). There is https://stackoverflow.com/questions/52683795/gnu-smalltalk-break-from-while… It start looking like FORTRAN/ADA exit instruction with explicit naming of loop but I don't like it better. ClassOrganizer and classifyAllUnclassfied

Hi all, while going through categories I naturally came by the source code for categorizing all uncategorized messages through the context menu in the Browser (Browser>>#categorizeAllUncategorizedMethods). I found that that method implemented the logic of classifying methods which I found odd as this sounds like something the class organizer should take care of. Thus, I rewrote the two classes to the code below: Browser>>#categorizeAllUncategorizedMethods "Categorize methods by looking in parent classes for a method category." self classOrMetaClassOrganizer classifyAllUnclassified. self changed: #messageCategoryList ClassOrganizer>>#classifyAllUnclassified | organizers | organizers := self subject withAllSuperclasses collect: [:ea | ea organization]. Does anyone have any opinion on that? I really prefer that version but I wanted to check first if there is a good reason not to have this in the Organizers. Cannot accept a method in debugger

Hi, in trunk image, I've been unable to accept a method in debugger. It barked about Process stack (but cannot remember the exact message), or maybe was it: 'aContext not in process chain' I could restart once from upper level, but the next time I modified a method in the debugger and attempted a restart, the debugger freezed. So I've hit ALT+CMD+. and I've got an error like: The active process cannot pop context... Then hundreds of windows with: Error (Object)>> doesNotUnderstand #contextStack Mphhh, sorry for the vague description, I don't know if I can recover the state of this image so as to be more specific (its a multi hours computation failure... and now a multi-minutes 'close all window like this' in progress...).
