[SUnit] how to: clean up *all* obsolete classes during tests?

I have I case where I absolutely need to get rid of all obsolete classes but #fixObsoleteReferences simply refuses to nuke all entries in the #ObsoleteSubclasses variable of Behavior. The classes and meta classes that don't go away are subclasses of ClassFactoryForTestCase and I do send it the #cleanup method. I noticed that this only is true as long as the test runner is open. Once I close the test runner, #fixObsoleteReferences succeeds. But that doesn't really help me because my test case fails *in* the test runner of course… Here's a test case that illustrates my problem: ClassFactoryForTestCaseTest>>testObsoleteReferences factory delete: factory new class. factory cleanUp. self shouldnt: [ Smalltalk fixObsoleteReferences ] raise: Error Image: 4.4 Build: #12320 VM: SqueakVM 4.2.5.bea1U Cheers, Max

Bibi, a Scratch port to recent Squeak

Hello, For those interested, I have made available a first draft of Bibi (a port of BYOB 3.1, based on Scratch) loading and working on Squeak 4.4 at this address: http://www.zogotounga.net/comp/squeak/bibi.zip It still has some rough edges and performance issues but is mostly usable; you should be able to load any Scratch or BYOB project and save them back, although in an upgraded and thus incompatible format. Hi All, is printOnStream: useful? Anyone know what it was for? It looks wrong to me. It prints strings rather than objects. e.g. thisContext method printOn: Transcript writes 'a CompiledMethod' to Transcript, rather than a CompiledMethod Further some of the method stamps are 1901. The Pharo guys have nuked this. Looks like it might be a good idea. -- best, Eliot

Annoyingly, you can't actually test the release process without having your commits in trunk (because cleaning your local packages requires checking them against trunk, and your local-only ReleaseBuilder version causes an MNU in the in the #versionWithInfo: send [(trunk versionWithInfo: wc ancestors first) load] on: Warning do: [:w | w resume]] That might simply be unavoidable; I haven't though about it enough to say one way or another. Speed of Morphic in Cuis (Re: [squeak-dev] Bibi, a Scratch port to recent Squeak)

Hello Juan, I am happy that you found the bug in Cuis 4.1 and that you say Morphic is still 5 times faster than Squeak though it uses Floats. How did you measure the speed? Code snippet? Getting rid of coloured code

I, personally, hate my code being coloured by some irritating know-it-all process that wants to tell me how that precious token there is a green-thing and that one is blue. No, it ain't. It's black, it's in my chosen font and you damn well leave it alone. Not to mention is wastes precious CPU time; the difference on my Pi is between unusable tools and ok tools. So here is a tiny changeset to rip out the nonsense. Some nice person might like to add a proper, friendly, Preference doohickey.
