Attending: Chris Muller, Bert Freudenberg, Colin Putney, Randal Schwartz, Levente Uzonyi, Jecel Assumpacao Jr., Chris Cunnington * - owing to an echoing audio problem in Teleplace part of the board meeting was used creating a Google Plus circle, which seemed to work to everybody’s satisfaction 4.3 Release News: * - feature freeze in two weeks; the code freeze in four * - the OmniBrowser will work in 4.3 before the feature freeze * - a rewrite of the Squeak Map server is available as an image for exploring on localhost athttp://www.16r.ca/SMView.zip which may be incorporated into 4.3 release plans * - a SqueakCore image is now available athttp://ftp.squeak.org/4.3alpha/ VMs, Linux, & Distribution: * - Colin talked to Esteban about vm packaging, who is busy with Smalltalks 2011 at the moment, so we’ll know more in the near future * - Jecel will have the report on Linux VMs ready next Wednesday on Squeak-dev

[newbie] CurlPlugin working folder

Hi, I'm working with the Curl Plugin. It seems to work fine, except that it requires write access to the folder containing my squeak image. I've been poking around the api but can't find a way to control which folder it uses. This is a pain for shipping an app - does anyone have any clues whether I can point the plugin to another working folder? - Dave

I think it would be worth extending MC's package saving dialog with the two panels of the Patch Browser. readFrom: vs readFromString:

There is a huge mess in #readFrom: implementation. Some classes will signal trailing characters as a bug, some other won't and will simply leave the stream positioned after the valid part. I propose to change this behaviour uniformly: - readFrom: aStream will never fail on trailing chars (hey, it's a stream, it's up to sender to interpret the tail) - readFromString: aString will always forbid trailing char (it's not a stream, so this garbage is most probably an error and cannot be ignored silently) What do you think ?
