Using a plugin?

Hello list, I want to use the CurlPlugin as a http client. But I cannot find information on how a plugin should be installed/configured. I have loaded the package from SqueakSource using Monticello and I have downloaded the dll's and stored them in my SqueakVM directory. But when I try to run some code I get a primitive failed error. I can find some information on how to create a plugin but not on how to use a plugin developed by someone else. Is the VMMaker package required when you just want to use a plugin? Please help me get started. Jan.

Hi All, anyone know the x86/IA32 really well? If so, read on. Otherwise save yourself the yawn. I just tried to save an instruction in Cog;s generated bitShift: primitive. It seems to me that SARL (shift arithmetic right long) should set the sign flag based on the result, in fact it says as much in the manual; I quote fro m IA-32 Intel(R) Architecture Software Developer's Manual Volume 2B: Instruction Set Reference, N-Z p 4-192 Flags Affected The CF flag contains the value of the last bit shifted out of the destination operand; it is unde- fined for SHL and SHR instructions where the count is greater than or equal to the size (in bits) of the destination operand. The OF flag is affected only for 1-bit shifts (see "Description" above); otherwise, it is undefined. The SF, ZF, and PF flags are set according to the result. If the count is 0, the flags are not affected. For a non-zero count, the AF flag is undefined. (my emphasis added). But neither the Bochs simulator nor my Intel Core Duo set the flags when doing sarl $1, %eax when %eax contains -1. Have I misread, or is the manual wrong? TIA Eliot

Hi-- For what it's worth, I routinely use a 3.9 simulator to simulate a 3.2 subject. I simply haven't needed other combinations recently. -C

Some time ago I fixed the simulator to run 3.9 images. InterpretSimulator

Hi, I've tried many times to use the simulator but every time it failed (missing method, ...). Do you have a patch or a link to a functional release ? Cheers, Gwenael

missing monticello package

hi, i'm using squeak 3.8 image and monticello, and i've a missing package in my aplications repository it is not in the package cache, in fact it may never existed at all, this is a problem for me because i can't merge the packages, does' anybody knows how to solve this? Hi-- The Squeak leadership team meets on first and third Wednesdays. Please contact me, directly or in this thread, with questions about the team or any of its meetings. - Attending on 2009-01-21 were Craig, Edgar, and Randal. Absent were Bert, Giovanni, Igor, and Yoshiki. - Craig recently reimbursed Squeak e.V. for past hosting bills, via Rita Freudenberg, their treasurer. Rita advises that doing business with Hetzner, the current provider, is too difficult to conduct from overseas (or even in a language other than German). She recommends that we switch providers. Craig asked the box team what they think of this, and also to get a summary of all ongoing bills we pay. Finally, Craig still has money left over from the ESUG's allocation to us, from when we were pursuing independent incorporation. Depending on who makes the simplest focal point for bill-paying, he'd like to transfer it. thanks, -C

Hello everyone, We're excited to announce the formation of Squeakland Foundation Inc, a non-profit organization that will take over from Viewpoints Research as the guardians of Squeak Etoys. Our new board of directors held its first meeting last Thursday, where we approved the name, elected officers, and made plans for this year's Squeakfest events. SVG bindings

Hello guys, i want to know about state/existance of SVG bindings for Seaside, or any other web framework available for squeak. My primary interest is to be able to generate SVG output procedurally. But also, i want it to be interactive, and use Ajax-like requests to update/refresh only a part of SVG document , like it described here: http://www.carto.net/papers/svg/postgis_geturl_xmlhttprequest/ and here the demo, what it does: http://www.carto.net/papers/svg/postgis_geturl_xmlhttprequest/example.svg I very like things like that, it proves that its possible to create a rich content using only svg (bye-bye html). -- Best regards, Igor Stasenko AKA sig.

Hey we have 2009 and typically people want to use stuff and not wasting time again and again with low level details.
