[ANN][Squeak-dev Beta Image] Version 07.6-2

Squeak-dev image is an image made for squeak developers. *Important notice:* This version is based on Squeak 3.10 7119. You can download it here: http://damien.cassou.free.fr/squeak-dev/beta/ This announcement is here to correct the previous announcement which were wrongly titled 123 even if the image version was 07.6. Moreover, the previous 07.6 version has been commited without being cleaned. The resulting image was very big: 20MB. I've just published a new version named 07.6-2 which is only 8.3MB. As far as I know there already was a dev version 123. Stéphane answered to an old mail that's why the title is 123. My two last images are named squeak-dev-07.6 and squeak-dev-beta-07.6. Beta images have always been based on 3.10 whereas non beta are based on 3.9. > Could the dev image include the 3.9 or 3.10 along with the update level in the versioning? I'm a bit confused with all the different versions of everything. Might there be a more consistent methodology of versioning? On June 18th, you mentioned changing your versioning scheme. Might I ask which version of 123 is this? As far as I know there already was a dev version 123. Could the dev image include the 3.9 or 3.10 along with the update level in the versioning? Folks: I attach my still not in the updates stream how to have Andreas Raab proposal (see http://lists.squeakfoundation.org/pipermail/squeak-dev/2007-June/117511.html ) I have a Windows PC now for testing purposes, the .cs activates the release team how to manage things via Monticello. All seems correct, but I don't was a Windows guy. So I beg all test this, as team requires test before we put any in the updates. Any problems, etc, I was in IRC And Andreas, thanks for your work and remember now you must put SmalltalkImage current platformName and not Smalltalk platformName. Original .cs blows the Mac image ! AIDA/Web now also on SqeakMap

Dear Squeakers, I just like to announce that I put Aida on SqueakMap too, so that you can install it from your image more easily. You need to install latest version of packages in that order: SPort, Swazoo, AIDA/Web. Side question: can I somehow put Swazoo and SPort as prerequisites to Aida? Help! Our Swiki stopped working and our content is inside

Hi all, I'm afraid I'm in a rather stupid spot and I don't know how to pull myself out of it, or even write intelligently for help from some kind soul. Months ago, maybe a year ago, one of my colleagues wanted to learn about wikis and so I figured out how to bring up a swiki in a squeak image and I set it up on her Mac to play with. In the course of playing she got some of our other colleagues using it for collaboration. Everything went swimmingly and it got used more and more but never in such a way that I worried to document what I had done. Now something has gone wrong and we haven't the slightest idea what, nor do we have much recollection even of what we were using. Below is a picture of what it looked like when it was working. And I vaguely remember having to write about 4 lines of code to get it started and then we just had to save and quit and from then on it would automatically startup when we started squeak. Problem is, now we just get a grey screen and I can't find reference to what I need to do to get the swiki running again. I expect our content is safe in the image if we could get the swiki serving again. If anyone can help us out we would be greatly appreciative. Cheers, and thanks so much, Randy

No, there's no such requirement. I can use file system instead of image. For multiple image case, I think that's possible up to 10 or 20 images. But number of users are 100 to 200.
