In Julian Fitzell's recent SqP article (http://people.squeakfoundation.org/person/julian/diary.html?start=0), he said: "I firmly believe that we can develop a process that makes it as easy to load the tests from squeakmap as it is from the update stream. Surely we can just add a menu item right next to the one to load updates that updates the BaseImageTests package? There could even be a menu item that did them both at the same time. What's the difference from the user's point of view? Nothing except increased control." This changeset is a quick attempt at adding such a menu item. The changeset adds a 'load unit-tests' button to the Squeak flap and and similar item to the appropriate menus. SM2 is a prerequisite for this changeset. You can make sure you have SM2 by doing "update map from the net" from PackageLoader, or by this do-it: Cursor wait showWhile: [ SMSqueakMap default loadUpdates. ].

Trygve et. Al, I also extended the functionality of the JacarandaShape by subclassing it and changing the right click menu by copying the two methods addBasicMenuItemsTo: aCustomMenu event: evt addBasicMenuItemsTo: aMenu onEvent: evt "Gets called when block is on diagram " into my subclass. I have not observed the sticking problem you are reporting. I just added my menu items to what is already there in both of these methods to cover the in and out of diagram situations. How to do networking in Squeak?

Hello I am trying to figure out how to do networking stuff in Squeak. I wrote a very simple code to create a listener at the specified port. But I don't know how to write back value so that the browser can display it. Could anyone please show me a very simple example so that I can leary from it. from preamble: "Change Set: Tests-md Date: 29 January 2004 Author: Marcus Denker These are all the tests from the BaseImage tests package on SqueakMap. We decided to add these to the image to make it more easy to add new tests and, most important, allow the tests to be used as runnable documentation. Conventions used: a) All tests are in a parallel class-category with the prefix Tests- This makes it easy to remove all tests. b) Tests for single classes: These tests are named ClassToBeTestedTest, all tests that test a single method are named testOriginalMethod, and are in a method-categorie named like the original, but with the prefix 'testing - '. For these kinds of tests an abstrakt subclass of TestCase (named ClassTestCase) is provided that adds common tests that seem to be usefull in all cases. (three up to now: a test if all methods are categoriesed, a test to send new and a test that looks if a class comment is provided) c) Tests that are testing more than one class (whole subsystems) or test for complex bugs are of course possible. These can be put in an existing 'Tests-*' category or even add their own (like Tests-KCP, or Tests-Bugs). "!

ChangeSorter: bug or feature?

I loaded a changeset from an outside source and did some work in it. I then loaded a later changeset in which the outside source had done some more work: I loaded this changeset under a different name. I wanted to compare the two changesets in a DualChangeSorter. To my surprise both panes showed the same new source code for methods of the same name (and class), i.e. my work was wiped out. On further inspection I noted that the changesets themselves (as opposed to the sorter which is a view on a changeset) point at the right code, i.e. the changeset knows precisely which version of a method it contains. It is the Sorter which goes out and gets the currently loaded code, whatever that is. Am I missing a point here? Any suggestions for comparing two changesets for methods with the same name but different implementations? I can hear Avi answering Monticello, but I find the Changeset behaviour counter-intuitive.

Hi, I got the idea and successfully created my own graph. Thanks. But now I am trying to remove the grid on the Axis coordinators. In other words, I only want to keep the X and Y axis without having others grid on the background. Is there any attribute I can turn off. >From the testXX example, I failed to figure it out. Thanks, Actually the version of Knoppix I have is DVD with Debian also on the DVD. So there would be plenty space for Goodies. I would also like to know if Alan is alright.
