Does anyone out there have a Linux Squeak vm that isn't linked with the X11 libraries? X isn't installed on the machine I want to run squeak on, so I get errors trying to load the X shared libraries when I try to run squeak (with -headless, of course).
Does such a vm even exist?

Try ./configure --without-x with the most recent VM source (3.2.5?). Colin Putney fixed up the -DHEADLESS support a few months ago, and it looks like Ian's integrated it.
