Hi all!
I just read a posting that implied that some people are not aware that 3.3alpha has been abandoned.
Anyway, it HAS. So now you know. :-) 3.4alpha is where we are moving forward as we speak.
But perhaps this should be stated on the www.squeak.org website too? And perhaps on Minnow somewhere?

When I tried to update from Squeak3.3alpha (#4981), I was told there are no new updates. How do I get the update process to move beyond 3.3alpha?
Thanks, Duane

Hmmm. I think that would be hard. If I were you I would fileout whatever I have written from that image, back down to a stock 3.2 image (or 3.4alpha/beta) and move forward from there into 3.4alpha.
Note also that if you update a 3.2 into 3.2.1 you are also moving out on a branch which can not (easily) move back onto the 3.4 track.

You can't update 3.3alpha to 3.4. It's a dead-end branch.

Wouldn't it make sense then to issue one last update for 3.3alpha that installs a pop-up that explains this and that is shown when someone tries to load updates?
Bruce, the download page carries the sentence "For those of you who want to play tester, you may also download the 3.3 alpha files. " This should probably be removed, too.
I've now posted a "last update" to 3.3a, which does what Joern suggests.
Cheers,
