Hmm, okay. Still, if you set your filters up otherwise, the [squeak]'s just take up extra screen space. The subject line is for the subject of the message, durnit.
Even "Re:" is a tad silly--what's the difference between "Re:" and "Subject" anyway?

Nope. Majordomo only inserts the subject_prefix string (here: [squeak]) when it is not already in the subject line.

The "Subject:" line is part of the header and the "Re:" is part of the subject line. But that is probably not what you meant, is it? ;-)
BTW: A lot of the subjects in this mailing list already include the word "Squeak." By switching to a prefix (such as [squeak]) this would be a bit more 'standardized'. If you imagine now that some people here are subscribed to more than only this list and the other lists handling this the same way, you might see the point of not wasting valuable screen space but having a possibility to browse through your inbox more effectively.
