You may try the attached CrLfFileStream which automatically detects the actual line end convention of a file. To install it for permanent use change FileStream class>>concreteStream to return CrLfFileStream rather than StandardFileStream.

I tried to unsubscribe from the squeak list using Majordomo@create.ucsb.edu but it bounced as address unknown. Do you happen to know what the correct procedure for unsubscribing is? I have to go into hospital, and I don't want to accumulated several thousand emails while I'm away!
