Hi all,
due to a higher workload, this year I won't be able to act as an admin on behalf of Squeak in the Google Summer of Code program.
Is there anyone interested in taking over?
Responsibilities of the admin include: - submitting the application for the mentoring organization - coordinating the mentors - managing the student applications - keeping track of the mentors and students during the various phases of the program - keeping in touch with the program admins at Google
If anyone is interested, please contact me in private.
Giovanni
If ken and klaus are primary support I can help them. But they should keep my load light because I'm full of admin (two large conferences this year + all the rest).

Friendly reminder:
- in about a week from now Google is supposed to announce GSoC 2009 - another week later organizations are requested to apply - Google already told that apps will be filtered more intensively - they plan for 150 orgs and 1000 students, less than before
What is the status of handing over admin?

I wrote to Giovanni to volunteer on Feb 10 and he was going to pass me the details. But he has been ill and on travel too! Hopefully, I can get to work on it soon.
I searched for info on GSOC 2009 and couldn't find any from Google itself. Is there an offical link for me to follow it?
Thanks, Aik-Siong Koh

and look for postings/responses/links from Leslie Hawthorn, Program Manager - Open Source, Google Inc.

Sorry for beeing off topic here, just wondering is there a chance to get previous and unfinished GSoC projects completed or continued? (like SqueakGtk or vaguely remembering squeak webbrowser project)

I think it should be alright to resubmit and let the mentors vote on it like every other project. Aik-Siong Koh
