Hi,
just want to share a success story I had recently using Celeste. To make a long story short: a while ago I received an e-mail containing a single "." on a one line which caused every pop-client to refuse downloading this mail (and all the others waiting as well). The provider couldn't help me either (I rather suspect they didn't understand what the problem was ;-) ).
Gee, I was wondering if the POP dot-escaping code worked.... :)
Your point is worth mentioning alone: if you use an open source mailreader, you can fix things yourself. And if you use a Squeak mailreader, you can fix things without going through edit-compile-run cycles--especially valuable if you are going to have to fidget around just to figure out how the code works to begin with!

PS -- it's a funny thing about the bargain basement ISP's. Who would expect any other utility company to be so clueless about their own product?
