What is the task of NullEncoder?

Hello NullEncoder is subclass of object ([1] for full hierachy). It is a superclass of Canvas. What is the function of NullEncoder. No class comment so far? ASN1 encoding of UTF8

I am trying to map utf8 into an ASN1 encoding, where the UTF8 is specified to perhaps extend past one byte in value. I am also interested in retaining this UTF8 characters in squeak to interoperate well. What would be my best approach to this, mapping to/from these bytes on a stream? Alan

Last update is MorphicExtras-tfel.172.mcz from April 2016. Is it this what you mean? Which code which relies on pixel information are you referring to? Regards Hannes

About loading Grease into Squeak6.0alpha latest update: #17402

Hello FYI: To load Grease [1] into Squeak6.0alpha latest update: #17402 I had to trick Metacello into assuming to have a Squeak 5.1 image [2]. Then (ConfigurationOfGrease project version: #stable) load went fine. A fix for Squeak6.0a is needed for the Metacello method in [2]. Editor / SimpleEditor?

The class comment of Editor [1] refers to 'SimpleEditor', a class which is not in the most recent Squeak 6.0a. Should it be just replaced by 'Editor'? --Hannes [1] New text editors. TextEditor provides most of the functionality that used to be in TextMorphEditor. SmalltalkEditor is has Smalltalk code specific features. SimpleEditor provides basic functionality for single line text editing. It does not handle fonts and styles, aligning and Smalltalk utilities. It handles one single line. CellStyleEditor allows entering alphabetic characters using only number keys, like many cell phones do.
