Morphs can be dropped on main docking bar

I just found out that I can drop morphs on the main docking bar. When I show the docking bar’s context menu, the „accept drops“ checkbox is not clicked, though. Is this a bug or a feature? Bernhard

RaspberryPi GPIO support package on SqueakMap

It was more ‘fun’ than it should have been, but at last there is a one-click install for the Pi gpio support libraries. Update your SM catalogue, find ‘RaspberryPi gpio support’ and install. Only works on a Pi, of course. Well, strictly speaking it ought to work on an x86 box running Raspbian PIXEL86, but you’d still need a Pi running the pgipgio service to access the actual pins. Well, until someone makes a PC add-on that provides them. So now you can have a Pi running Squeak reading some gpio attached inputs and sending the data via MQTT to some other Squeak that uses PlotMorph to make a pretty image and ship that to a website via an http PUT whilst saving the data in a Magma database for posteriority. Oh, and since Facebook uses MQTT you can auto-update stuff there too. The SoundLibraryToolMorph breaks if you try to get the yellow menu. The root cause is likely to do with the amazingly convoluted pile of code that gets run to try to add menu options from every morph in the entire universe, whether related to the tool or not. That appears to be something to do with EToys but I don’t know and don’t much care. Just take a look at Morph>yellowButtonActivity: And maybe Morph>allStringsAfter: The lower level issue is that the #getListItem: code pays no attention to the way that the list is actually a list of lists that contain (supposedly) related items and so asking a list of 2 list of 18 entries for the 4th entry will never really work out well. I was about to try out a fix for that when I noticed that the code seems to be unable to make up its mind whether the list is of actual objects that will be used later or simply pre-cooked strings. Should this return a collection of each entry in the corresponding row, like #getListRow:, or a list of string for each of those, or a string composited from those? Hi, here's a bullet point list: - macOS Sierra needs a special vm compared w/ previous ones - macOS Sierra makes it hard to _just run_ downloaded bundles/All-in-ones - all-in-ones look ugly since Yosemite due to new requiremens for code signing. - we have some indirection in the shell scripts for the linux variant - we still have this strange LD_LIBRARY_PATH dance that apparently fails on newest Ubuntu (see recent mail) - occasionally, we have people from BSDen who also want to use Squeak. So, I'd propose: - Ditch the AOIs. - Deliver macOS bundles as DMG, not as Zip, so as to force people to move the bundle, so that macOS Sierra is happy to run stuff. In the long run: - Provide deb's and rpm's Best regards -Tobias
