An idea for more up2date screenshots in doc

Hi, I'm stuck here in the stonestown Apple Store waiting to get my daughter's iPhone in for repair (had to reschedule because they need her Apple ID and password to disable find my iPhone but I had to wait until a friend could contact her for the info because...she doesn't have her iPhone, I do). So I'm checking out the new MBP and surfing Squeak.org etc. one thing I notice is ancient screen shots in documents on the wiki. This isn't just because it's time consuming to rewrite the docs; it's also a manual process to generate the images. It strikes me that we could automate deriving pictures of browsers etc, by using the vm command line to script opening a specific browser in an image and exporting an image. Wouldn't it be great if there was a github project that did this that one could check out and extend and would comprise both the set of scripts to generate the images and the generated images. It would then be reasonably straight-forward to update the images when a new release would come out. The images could be uploaded to some server so that web docs can refer to the most up-to-date images via a static URL. Student project anyone? _,,,^..^,,,_ (phone)

Folks: I wish remove tags from HTMlL According to https://regex101.com/ and http://www.freeformatter.com/regex-tester.html and also of my old Nissus Pro. <.+?> Should be a valid expression. But regex| regex := RxMatcher forString: '<.+?>’. Gives my an error. Any help ? Edgar @morplenauta

Hi All, can I suggest that Pharo and Squeak coordinate on a change. First, #selector is bad because it is ambiguous. As already determined #keyword is awful because it's false (it is a message selector, not just a keyword). So could we - use #methodSelector and #pragmaSelector for the next few years, and deprecate #selector and #keyword? - after a suitable time use #selector to mean #pragmaSelector because that's the most useful abbreviation (in my experience I most often access #pragmaSelector)? _,,,^..^,,,_ (phone) > On Nov 14, 2016, at 6:37 AM, Esteban A. Did the control key change somewhere along the way?

The VM I was using refused to open an image it had saved, so I tried getting a newer VM. That solved the image open problem, but control keys no longer work as they once did. Any thoughts on restoring old behavior? Horribly mutable compiled method litterals

Hello, I just realized that one can change much too easily the behavior of some compiled methods dynamically, which seems to me more like a bug than a feature. For example, if you do the following in a workspace: Character constantNames at: 5 put: #hello then until #constantNames is recompiled, it will return #(#backspace #cr #delete #escape #hello #null #newPage #space #tab) instead of #(#backspace #cr #delete #escape #lf #null #newPage #space #tab). This allows horrible bugs horribly difficult to debug which is, IMHO, horrible. So, is it a feature ? Stef
