Hello and a question about TextFieldMorph
Hello Javier,
Very good discription of a problem that should be
fixed.
Could you please put a report on mantis? Here is the
relevant FAQ:
FAQ: Is this a known issue ? Where is the place to
report bugs (or check if
some have already been raised) ?
The best place for this info would be to start a
Mantis report. (You can get a mantis acct freely and
easily).
A good place to start is:
http://bugs.impara.de/my_view_page.php
Mantis provides a patient persistent way to focus on
an issue.
I use it to accumulate data on a problem until a
solution can be found.
It provides a place to alert the community to a
problem;
-accumulate facts and clues from the analysis;
-publish preposed solutions and get feedback;
-get solutions harvested and included into the main
stream.
This FAQ is also available at the Squeak wiki site.

Thanks for the pointer, guys!
Dave, I'm on 32 bit.
Stef, I do use default image taken from the Squeak.org.
I think I should really follow up to vm-dev mail list
Thanks
PS Sorry, I've forgotten to CC to the squeak-dev..

heading = forwardDirection + rotationDegrees (was Re:
How can we deal with Message rot?)
Hi Bert,
Thanks for your thought on this.

I think it only seems this way.
First, I am making the assumption that by eToys you
are refering to programming with tiles, Players etc.
The larger realm of eToys also consists of morphs and
their behavior (particular behavior in response to
halo handles). So what affects programming with tiles
spills over into morph considerations.

Ok. thanx.

etc.
Etoys player would benifit greatly from knowing less
about how a morph carries out its tilting
responsibilities. That means establishing a consistent
language and having all classes (and their programmers
and maintainers) stick to it.
This is the task of an oft promised but long overdue
refactoring of morphic stuff.
I haven't worked out the details but the notion I have
is that it should be possible to say
"player assuredFlexibleCostume heading: aHeading "
and have the right thing happen.
And maybe later
"player assuredSimplestCostume"
which would remove redundant renderers.
>This is why
>you see inconsistent behavior in the individual morph
classes.
But it shouldn't be that way. The responsibilities
can be clearly defined and every morph would benifit.
Many of the deep bugs I run into have the
TransformationMorph decorator as their root.
Lots of the gribble leaving problems come from a
mismatch of assumptions between TfMorph ( which
believes you can translate the origin into the 3rd
quadrant) while every body else believes that truncate
is the same as floor because all points are in the
1st quadrant. Clipping boxes get calculated wrong and
are often of by one just when you need them not to be.
Results: screen gribbles abound.

Player, and this is

morph. I think

completely, which might

As I look at the code I see constant attempts to worry
about which morph is actually being talked to renderer
or renderee. The code practically begs to be
refactored. Its just a big job at the moment.
I await enlightenment and inspiration. Meanwhile I am
trying refactorings that lay the ground work for the
simplification of the Tf mess.

[Help needed] Enhancing manits filter.
Hi Brad,
Thanks for the feedback.
I guess that means the filters are local to my use.
I'll see if I can ask Ken to help make them global.

Hi all,
I need some help in checking if the new mantis filters
All_Reports
and
All_My_Reports
are available to other logged in reporters.
You can see:
http://bugs.impara.de/view.php?id=5705
Summary 0005705:
Request for two standard permanent filters to ease
browsing for issues.
For the motivation and usefulness of these
enhancements.
The named filters are available to me but since I am
the one who saved them I need to know if they are
available to others.
They are not available anonymously because no named
filters are. So I need someone who can log in to check
and reply. Replying in the mantis report would be best
and sufficent.
Once I learn they are available to all I will announce
to the list and add filtering tips to the swiki.
Thanks in advance.

Can someone tell me if there are list/subscription option that I am
overlooking? Other lists prefix the subject line with the list
allowing a simple means to identify posts, but I cannot seem to find
anything like that. Thanks.
Hi!
I just ran a script on the SM server changing about 105 releases so that
the download URLs point to wiki.squeak.org instead of
minnow.cc.gatech.edu. So if you are having problems with installing
packages it might be because they are hosted as attachments on the
Squeak Swiki (which was moved) - in that case, update your map now.
I also changed homepage URLs for packages in the similar way.
If anyone experiences a problem related to this - email me. :)
regards, Göran

Huh. Wherein should I pay attention to the dependencies? SqueakMap
Package Loader holds them automatically. I've tried to install another
package (Refactoring Engine) with same result
$ squeak ./Squeak3.9-final-7067.image
<VM exited>
Pollable event
Is there anybody else here with Solaris? Do you experience same trouble?
