BytecodeGenerator

I was toying around with various OODBMSes in Squeak today and noticed that BytecodeGenerator is no longer in Squeak 3.8. Is there a reason why it was removed, or was that an oversight? It breaks WriteBarrier, which in turns slows down GOODS and breaks the development versions of Magma. --Benjamin

Avi Bryant is Speaking in London on 19th July

Avi Bryant will be speaking in London about Seaside on the evening of Tuesday the 19th of July at the Old Bank of England. People normally start arriving around 7pm then the talk will probably kick off a little later. Food may be ordered at the bar until about 8pm. Avi is one of the original authors of Seaside, a continuation based web framework. Seaside offers much better tools for building reusable web components than other frameworks. But we do know that #keysAndValuesDo: somehow has a block and is expecting it to accept 2 args, and in *most* cases that will also help to find which message send got the wrong kind of block as an argument as well. Squeakers around Portland?

Just thought I'd mention that I'll be spending this summer at Portland State University, happily squeaking away :-) with Andrew Black and his crew. I've never been to the US, and thus never had a chance to meet many of you that I know from the list. I'd love to meet any fellow Squeakers in the general area, to pair program or just chat. [ANN] Component library for Seaside

Hi all, thanks to Pavel Krivanek, we are proud to announce new project at SqueakSource. It's named ShoreComponents and it already contains some code :-) Shore Components project is a library of building blocks for Seaside. Currently it contains only few of them, but we hope that the project can serve as the meeting point for those people asking in mailing lists for such a library again and again. Anybody who has an interesting reusable component for Seaside and is willing to share it with community is strongly encouraged to do so. Also all the Seaside experts are welcome to help the project doing the code review and bugfixes (right now there is one we can't solve yet, concerning caching of images) regards -- .:jbk:. Jan B. how to collect a bitmap from external environment (windows)

hai, we have stored a bitmap in memory using an external application,and we are unable to access it from squeak. The size of the bitmap is 16*16. we will be happy if any suggestions or any pointers provided. Thanks in advance. K.Prabhakar Center For I.T in Education IIIT Hyderabad, India.
