[Q] Updating connections

Hi. I'm trying to update the label of connectors attached to a morph when it change. I capture the #connectedToBy: and send the new value to the label. When doing manually, everything's fine. When doing programatically, there's a problem. I think the values of the constraints of the connectors are updated AFTER #connectedToBy: is trigered so the morph receive the old values of the constraint. Do you think this is a bug of connector's package? Or there's other way I can't see? Thanks

Squeakland web Plugin

Hi, It looks that the Squeak web plugin is 3.2 image, am I wrong ? In this case what are limitations that e-toy programmers can encouter when building project using an older version of Squeak (3.5 or 3.6) ? Even with using a project made using Squeak 3.2, I can not view it inside a web page (using the <embed> tag). The project file is in the same directory as the html file... Error during install of KomHttpServer 6.2 in Squeak3.7a-5657 image

Hi, I get a pop up with "Error occured during install: UndefinedObject>>versionString" when attempting to install KomHttpServer 6.2 into a Squeak 3.7a-5657 image. A side note: If during the install I answer "yes" to the prompt about loading "KomPackaging" the error occurs much sooner than if you answer "no". Sounds like a SqueakMap 2 problem? Any ideas anyone? How to start Squeak under WinXP from image on network?

I just installed the downloadable version of Squeak 3.5 on a Windows XP machine. I can start Squeak on local images (i.e. on the C: drive). that is, this works from a cmd prompt: cd /d c:\squeak squeak.exe squeak.image I tried to open an image several ways, but am not able to start up images on network shares. For instance, this doesn't work: c:\squeak\squeak.exe \\ned\homes\Squeak\3.6\squeak.image even though I can in fact see the image file in the explorer. Squeak complains that it can't find the file. Why doesn't this work? If I map a drive it works, though very very slowly: map h: \\ned\homes c:\squeak\squeak.exe h:\Squeak\3.6\squeak.image But I was trying to avoid mapped drives, since they seem to be just "tacked on" to NT (i.e. they have to go through a translation to become native resource names, etc.) and they're something else that can break. -- Ned Konz http://bike-nomad.com GPG key ID: BEEA7EFE

from preamble: "Change Set: Tests-md Date: 29 January 2004 Author: Marcus Denker These are all the tests from the BaseImage tests package on SqueakMap. We decided to add these to the image to make it more easy to add new tests and, most important, allow the tests to be used as runnable documentation. Conventions used: a) All tests are in a parallel class-category with the prefix Tests- This makes it easy to remove all tests. b) Tests for single classes: These tests are named ClassToBeTestedTest, all tests that test a single method are named testOriginalMethod, and are in a method-categorie named like the original, but with the prefix 'testing - '. For these kinds of tests an abstrakt subclass of TestCase (named ClassTestCase) is provided that adds common tests that seem to be usefull in all cases. (three up to now: a test if all methods are categoriesed, a test to send new and a test that looks if a class comment is provided) c) Tests that are testing more than one class (whole subsystems) or test for complex bugs are of course possible. These can be put in an existing 'Tests-*' category or even add their own (like Tests-KCP, or Tests-Bugs). "!

ChangeSorter: bug or feature?

I loaded a changeset from an outside source and did some work in it. I then loaded a later changeset in which the outside source had done some more work: I loaded this changeset under a different name. I wanted to compare the two changesets in a DualChangeSorter. To my surprise both panes showed the same new source code for methods of the same name (and class), i.e. my work was wiped out. On further inspection I noted that the changesets themselves (as opposed to the sorter which is a view on a changeset) point at the right code, i.e. the changeset knows precisely which version of a method it contains. It is the Sorter which goes out and gets the currently loaded code, whatever that is. Am I missing a point here? Any suggestions for comparing two changesets for methods with the same name but different implementations? I can hear Avi answering Monticello, but I find the Changeset behaviour counter-intuitive.

[ENH] Giving information on method author (name,url,email...)

Add in the method menu of the browser the possibility to have more info on the author : email, complete name, url, description... if such informations are available on SqueakMap. So SqueakMap is a prerequisite. Try it by open a method menu then more... then info on author.
