This works for me on macOS Sierra 10.2.5:
* Download the file for macOS from http://squeak.org/downloads/ ---- http://files.squeak.org/5.1/Squeak5.1-16549-32bit/Squeak5.1-16549-32bit-2017... ----
* In Finder, double click the file ---- Squeak5.1-16549-32bit-201701281910-macOS.zip ---- you have downloaded .
* This will expand into ---- Squeak5.1-16549-32bit-All-in-One.app ---- .
* Drag ---- Squeak5.1-16549-32bit-All-in-One.app ---- to a different folder, say Desktop subfolder of my home directory.
* Double click the ---- Squeak5.1-16549-32bit-All-in-One.app ---- .
* Now you should be able to save the image .
