How to access a remote PostgreSQL db

Hi, I would like to know if there is a package let me access a PostgresSQL db on a remote computer. PGSqueak ? [ I can't find the code] I don't need to do complex stuff, just run a SELECT and retrieve some rows. I am exploring the possibility of using Squeak to make a GUI and keep under control a solar power plant. bye Nicola

How to rescale child Morph when father does ?

Hi, Considering this short snippet: ------------------- "Prepare the rectangle containing the drawing." r := RectangleMorph new. r extent: 500@500. r openInWindow. p := PolygonMorph vertices: {(r left)@(r top). (r right)@(r bottom)} color: Color white borderWidth: 2 borderColor: Color white. r addMorph: p. -------------------- 1] I see that the PolygonMorph 'p' translates with its father the RectangleMorph 'r'. Ok, as expected. 2] If I rescale 'r' with the Halo yellow button, 'p' is not rescaled and the effect is unexpected. How can I make 'p' rescale with its father ? bye Nicola

Can't open MorphLayoutArticle

Hi, I am trying to understand the layout in Morph. I am familiar with other GUI toolkit as Tk, so It should not be a problem, I need just to see some simple examples. It is quite difficult to find information about this subject. I finally landed here: https://wiki.squeak.org/squeak/2400 Bue when I try to open the file "MorphLayoutArticle.pr" in Squeak 5.2 I get a lot of errors. Is there around a working version of MorphLayoutArticle ? bye Nicola

ColorTranscript howto fake/implement?

I’m trying to implement something along the lines of: ColorTranscript show: ‘text’ withColor: Color red; show: ‘more text’ withColor: Color blue. All stream classes seem to strip out text attribute information except AttributedTextStream which seems rather incomplete. I was thinking that I could analyze how the color menu that is accessed via cmd-6 (on the mac) is able to colorize a selection even in a transcript window and so implement the functionality by faking the UI’s steps, but I can’t figure out how to debug the interface and trace though a menu call to see what it actually does. Any suggestions? on how to trace the steps to colorize a word via the menu OR on how to implement the functionality directly… Either/both would be appreciated, Thanks. Lawson

Modify action bound to shortcut Cmd+p

Hi, Often I would like to copy and paste Workspace code to my GoogleDocuments. I use frequently the Cmd+p sequence to evaluate and print the value of an expression into the Workspace. My issue is that using frequently Cmd+p the syntax highlighter in the Workspace goes nut because it does not understand how the output results fits into the code. So, I would like the Cmd+p (or other sequence), could be Cmd+q, to do this for me: 1+2. Cmd+p 3 1+2. Cmd+q "=> 3" 'hello', ' world'. Cmd+p 'hello world' 'hello', ' world'. Cmd+q "=> 'hello world'" So I would like the output to be preceded by a "=>" string and printed as a Smalltalk comment. Do you know how to do it ? bye Nicola

Thank you very much for responding. Unfortunately I already gave up on moving to 64 bit Debian 10 at this time and installed the 32 bit version. Everything is once again working. Once all my code has been ported to 5.2 I will try again or perhaps I will wait until Debian 11 is released.
