Hello All,

Our last news update was 6 years ago.  https://news.squeak.org/

That is a very long time to have nothing happen!  It is entirely my fault although I have been asking for someone to take it over.  I haven't done it often enough.

I'm doing it again now.

HELP!

Ok to try and do it a bit better.

Why: because not everyone reads the mailing list.  It is a good way to reach potential and existing users of Squeak to let them know what is going on.  Small simple regular articles about what is happening is a great way to promote the squeak community and to give it more life.

I still believe that news.squeak.org has real value and it would be great to have someone, who does read the mailing lists, post articles about what is going on.  It doesn't have to be big events, just interesting ones that squeak users would want to know.  The articles don't have to be long, just a paragraph or two and a picture would be nice.  There are a ton of things that have happened in the past 6 years but we don't have to go backwards even just going forwards would help.

Since news.squeak.org started we have had 750K views.  our best month had 25K views.  Our top article is this: https://news.squeak.org/2007/12/29/old-smalltalk-pics-from-parc-place/ with 35K views.

Would someone or everyone that reads the smalltalk lists please step up and agree to periodically post articles to news.squeak.org?

In other words: HELP!

If you are willing to help please contact me and I'll give you an account on our wordpress site so you can start posting articles.  I can also answer any questions and help get you started.  Having more than one volunteer would be great.  Maybe then we can reach our goal of one article a week!

Thank you!!!

All the best,
